Painting a Radiator

Materials:

220-grit sandpaper
tack cloth
latex satin paint (Basic Brown SW1098) (Sherwin-Williams)
glaze (Ralph Lauren Aberdeen Dutchess Satin Metallic)
paintbrushes

1. Lightly sand the radiator and remove the dust with a tack cloth or damp rag. Paint the entire radiator with a base coat of Basic Brown with a brush to get into the nooks and crannies (latex paint is safe as is the glaze for the top coat). Let dry for 24 hours. Apply a second coat if necessary and let dry.
2. Use a smaller brush to highlight the relief spots with glaze after wiping the excess on a rag or paper towel (figure A).
