Christine Pullara gives these quick and inexpensive ideas for keeping curtains tied back:

  • Glue a ping-pong paddle to a large curtain tieback for a whimsical touch for a game or kid's room (figure A).
  • Bend a large spoon or other utensil to hold curtains in position--perfect for a kitchen or breakfast nook (figure B).
  • Let the sun shine in by gluing favorite shells to a length of rope to hold lightweight curtains back (figure C).
