IRIS redesign specialists Kristine Porter and Jane Douglas work to organize and simplify the furnishings and accessories in a bold-colored contemporary space.
  • In the living room, the piano and sofa are repositioned opposite each other, facing outside. A metal etagere adds height in the corner and the seating group is complete with a red chair and glass table. Artwork is grouped on the wall behind the sofa.
  • In the dining room, the table is placed so that it mimics the diagonal lines of the sofa. A buffet along the back wall balances the weight of the piano; another wood piece placed opposite the buffet completes the dining space. Wall art, lighting and a houseplant grouped together progress from high to low. White tulips and candles and glass vases and candlesticks create a soothing monochromatic tablescape.
