Homemade Brass Polish

Decorating With Style : Episode DWS-104 -- More Projects »
Brass polish can be expensive and you don't always have it on hand. Make your own by making a paste of corn meal and vinegar. The vinegar is what actually cleans the metal. The cornmeal just makes it a paste. Spread on and let work for a few minutes, depending on how tarnished the item is. Wipe away, rinse and dry completely. Add salt for extra scouring. Tomato juice also works. ( If you don't have cornmeal, just soak in vinegar or tomato juice.)
