Inexpensive silver plates or dishes can be converted into beautiful planters. First , place soil in the dish, then put a flowering bulb in the center and press sheet moss around the sides. The result is a beautiful, creatively displayed flowering plant.

Use old toy alphabet blocks to create unique place card holders. Stack the blocks to spell out guests' names, or just use the first letter of each name at the designated places. Cut an angled groove in the top of the block with a handsaw (the angle helps the card stand upright), and simply place the name card in the groove.
