Trash to Treasure: Newel Posts, Funnels, Grates

To make an attractive quilt rack, attach round supports to the bottom of two newel posts and use a piece of stair railing for the rack.

Collect funnels of various sizes so they can be stacked on top of each other (secure with glue). Cut a discarded broom handle to size and insert through the funnels. Top with an ornamental object or create your own using a scroll saw.

Take the round top off of a piano bench and use the base for the table base. Attach an architectural grate with washers and screws and add a piece of glass (use rubber "feet" between the glass and grate).
