Build a column to hold plants or decorative accessories using cardboard products.
Materials:

cardboard frames (2 square #30010 and 2 inner circles #30047)
single-fluted cardboard (art and packing stores)
craft glue
metal ruler
painter's tape
cutting mat
craft knife
self-adhesive floor tile
spray paint

Steps :

1. Find the center of the square frames by drawing a line from corner to corner . Center a round frame over each and mark on each line for gluing purposes later. Set square frames aside.

2. Cut fluted cardboard to desired column height. Put glue along the top long edge and place the round cardboard frame in the center of the glue so the top of the circle is flush with the edge of the band. Bring the ends of the band up to meet each other , covering the entire edge of the circle in the process. Tape the edges together until the glue sets. Glue the seam closed half way up the column height.

3. Repeat with the other round piece on the other end of the column. Glue the rest of the seam closed.

4. Glue a square frame to the top and bottom using the marks for a guide.

5. Finish the column as desired with paint or self-adhesive linoleum tiles.
