Use an old sled in a new way to hold holiday treats.

Materials:

old sled
steel wool or scrubbing pad
wood stain
polyurethane
two tree limbs (approximately 4" in diameter)
scrap wood
nails or screws
hammer or screwdriver
saw
paintbrush

Steps:

  1. Clean the sled well using steel wool to scrub the runners. Stain and finish the sled as desired.
  2. Cut a base for the table; stain and finish the wood to match the sled (figure A).
  3. Attach two dry tree limbs to the base. Cap the limbs with two blocks of wood , also finished to match the sled (figure B).
  4. Place the sled onto the base.
