Figure B
Materials:

scrap wood
clamp
drill/bit
3' steel rods

Steps:

  1. Cut wood into four equal lengths as desired. The length can vary, but the width should be at least six inches so the discs fit.
  2. Clamp all four pieces together so that a hole can be drilled in the same place in each.
  3. Drill holes in each outer corner and two in the middle (figure A). If the wood is too thick, cut two at a time, making sure to drill in the same place in each board. Paint as desired.
  4. Use a nut, washer and end cap to attach the steel rods to the wood. Put the hardware on the rod, insert it in the bottom shelf and tighten the nut. Once all the rods are placed in the bottom shelf, slide the remaining shelves down over the rods (figure B).
  5. Place the shelves about eight inches apart. If they're uneven, screw the supporting washer and nut up or down to adjust the height.
  6. Once the top shelf is put in place and secure, place end caps at the bottom of each of rod to keep them from scratching floors.
