Ann Myrick shares how to decorate in unpredictable ways with items you already have in the house, basement or attic:
  • Take an ornate electric candelabrum apart and turn it into a dramatic candlestick.
  • Fill a welder's toolbox with plants, books and favorite old items to enjoy it all the time.
  • Fill an old tin baking pan or silver piece with sunflower seeds and place candles in them (figure A). Use the pan to hold plants, recipe cards or as a desk organizer.
  • Display antique iron flower frogs on a wall or use them as pen/pencil holders .
