Materials:

old doorknobs, keys and knockers
old frames
fabric
foam core board
craft knife
screws
tape or glue
wire
drill
thin plywood
awl

Steps:

Framing Door Knockers

  1. Attach heavier items to plywood cut to fit the frame with a screw and washer. Drill the screw hole first; place the screw through the plywood, and then cover the front of the plywood with fabric, leaving a hole for the screw.
  2. Tape or glue the fabric in place on the back.
  3. Screw the knocker on and place the plywood in the frame (figure A).

Framing Keys and Knobs

  1. Wrap a piece of foam core in fabric and attach it to the back of the board with tape.
  2. Punch holes with an awl. Secure the knobs with screws and the keys with wire.
  3. Place the foam core in the frame and hang or rest on shelf.
