Materials:

corbel
scrap wood
nails
wood glue
plumber's tape

Steps:

  1. Cut a piece of scrap wood to fit the top of the corbel.
  2. Glue, and then nail the wood to the top (figure A).
  3. Attach plumber's tape to the back of the shelf with screws for hanging.
