Candle Stands
Stack cut pieces of yardsticks to create candle stands that have a fun, folk-art quality. Secure a candle plate to the top with a screw (figure A).

Coat Rack
Show off the graphic quality of yardsticks by using them as the base for a wall-mounted coat rack. Add a hook to each end to mount it to the wall.

Coasters and Frames
Coasters and frames are two more fun and inexpensive accessories made from yardsticks. Add magnetic strips to the back of the frame for a unique refrigerator magnet (figure B).
