Distinct Table Dressings

Designer Greg Henson turns everyday meals into something special with placemat ideas:

• Make a kid meal fun and colorful by cutting a piece of plywood in a square or rectangular shape. Cover it with chalkboard paint and add colorful blocks for punch (figure A).
• Favorite photocopied images can be laminated for a new look with each season or occasion (figure B).
• Use a large fan to add an Asian or exotic flair to a meal (figure C).
