Turn sections of a discarded garden gate into a useful and interesting hanging pot rack.
Materials:

gate sections
wire brush
spray paint
black chain
ceiling hooks with toggle bolts
S-hooks
drill with spade bit
foam cup
pencil
chain pliers

Steps:

1. If necessary, remove any rust with a wire brush, and then spray-paint the gates in desired color. Let dry.

2. Hold the gate pieces right up to the ceiling and lightly mark where the ceiling hooks should go.

3. Place the cup over the drill bit to catch drywall dust and drill the holes. Insert each toggle, making sure they open up by pulling down on them and screw the hook until it's tight.

4. Decide how far down each gate piece should hang (hold up a section with the longest pan just underneath to check for view obstruction). Use the chain pliers to open and close links for the necessary length and to hook the end link around the gate pieces.

5. Place the top links over the ceiling hooks and add S-hooks around the gate to hold pots and pans.
