Snowflake Place Mats Materials:
felt (white and blue)
paper-backed fusible webbing (large sheet)
kraft paper
iron
scissors
Steps:
- Draw a large circle on kraft paper and use it as a template to cut one out of white felt for the place mat base.
- Fold the paper in half, and then in thirds. Draw a simple pattern for the snowflake and cut it out.
- Fuse paper-backed adhesive to a piece of blue felt as large as the circle. Trace snowflake pattern onto paper and cut it out.
- Remove paper backing and fuse to center of white place mat.
Tiered Serving Platter
Materials:
two wooden plates (two sizes)
wooden candlestick
acrylic paint (white, light blue, medium blue)
extender
foam brushes
stippling brush or plastic bag
assorted snowflake stamps
wood glue
non-toxic sealer
silver paint pen
Steps:
- Paint all surfaces white.
- Mix the two blue paints separately with extender to desired consistency.
- With a foam brush, randomly stroke each color onto the surfaces. While still wet, stipple it to create a soft and fluffy look. Let dry.
- Load stamps with desired paint colors and cover each plate and the candlestick . Trim with silver if desired.
- Glue candlestick between the plates and allow to dry. Seal for protection.
Melted Snowman Centerpiece
Materials:
top hat
fleece fabric or scarf
two branches
carrot
large buttons
mittens
Steps:
- Arrange the items on the table as if looking at a melted snowman.
