Use these ideas to get your family photos and memorabilia out of drawers and boxes for unique displays:
- Pile photos in a nice basket and put it out for guests and family members to look through. It makes a great conversation piece on the coffee table.
- Instead of bills, stack family photos in a letter organizer on a side table, next to a bed or in a guest room. Change the visible ones often for a new perspective .
- Buy a memory board or staple batting and fabric over a piece of foam core board to make one. Then staple or glue ribbon or cord in a crisscross pattern on the front and slip photos and memorabilia (event tickets, invitations, announcements, etc.) under the ribbons.
- Hang architectural shelves or molding pieces to give importance to a framed photograph .
- Tuck photographs into the edges of a mirror frame to be reminded of family and friends daily.
- Enlarge a picture to put inside a cylindrical vase or fill a rectangular one with vintage shots.
- Sandwich pictures between glass in a candle photo frame for a portable and stylish photo cube.
- Frame rolled or tiled cork for a current and easily changed photo display. Use fun push pins, jewelry or upholstery pins to hold photos and mementoes in place.
- Use decorative scissors to cut around copies of old photos for a vintage deckled edge.
- Make a rustic frame using the bottom of an old garden box or crate and use upholstery tacks to hold photos in place.
- Embellish frames by stapling cord or ribbon to them and top with gilded architectural pieces. Be sure to hang the frame itself for safety purposes and then add the extra touches.
