Materials:
papier mache boxes
DecorIt permanent inks in two or more colors
pigment ink pads (two or more colors, one metallic and clear)
embossing powder
cosmetic sponge wedges
latex gloves
Magic Stamp embossable foam block
embossing heat tool
old jewelry, lace or other textured items
glue
embellishments
Steps:
Note: Read all manufacturers' instructions for each product before beginning .
- Protect the work surface and wear latex gloves while working with the inks as they dry fast and are permanent.
- Use a wedge to apply the first DecorIt ink to the box. Add a second coat if needed for opaque color and apply ink to inside if desired.
- With another wedge, apply a second ink color and/or metallic over surface to age the box. Dab excess on paper and apply very little so the sponge is almost dry .
- Heat foam block and press over a grouping of jewelry to emboss a pattern/texture on it. Note: The foam can be reheated to create a different texture or kept as is to use for other stamping projects.
- Put clear ink on block and stamp randomly over the surface of the box. While it's still wet, sprinkle embossing powder over the surface. Emboss the texture using the heat tool and let it dry for a few minutes.
- Glue embellishments to the box if desired.
