Use an ordinary household item to decorate a shelf.

Materials:

36" scrap wood
hot glue gun
clothespins
2 wood brackets
wood screws
screw driver
epoxy glue
mirror
hardboard
hammer
nails
stain
paintbrush

Steps:

  1. Glue clothespins along the edge of the piece of scrap wood, alternating the direction. Leave about 1/2 inch showing above the edge of the wood to create a lip (figure A).
  2. Attach brackets to the bottom of shelf with wood screws (figure B).
  3. Glue and nail a piece of hardboard that is 1/4 inch longer than the mirror to the back edge of the shelf.
  4. Take apart a few clothespins and glue them end-to-end along the edge of the mirror to create a frame.
  5. Stain the shelf and allow to dry.
  6. Use epoxy glue to attach the mirror to the hardboard.
