During the wash cycle, Samsung's SilverCare technology electrifies two sterling plates, which releases silver ions into the water. The ions kill odor-causing bacteria without hot water or bleach. Samsung developed SilverCare technology to address consumer's needs for sanitization while doing it in an energy efficient way. Using cold water eliminates 92 percent of the energy compared to hot water sanitization, and it's gentler on delicate garments.
