Kathy Lamancusa, crafting consultant for the Loctite Corporation, demonstrates how to decorate your wedding accessories with dried and silk flowers. She shows how to make a bow, how to decorate the guest book, and how to put a unique touch on the cake knife and champagne glasses.

Materials

guest book
champagne glasses
cake knife
silk or dried flowers
silk foliage
ribbon
scissors
glue or glue gun with glue sticks
florist wire

1. First make two smaller bows and attach the two to make a larger, fuller, two -color bow, as seen in figure A. Begin by making a loop with the ribbon and twisting the ribbon at the middle (figure B); then continue to make more loops until the bow is the size you want it to be.

2. Hold the center securely between your fingers and twist a short piece of wire around it (figure C).

3. Repeat this with a second color/type of ribbon, and attach the second bow to the first using the wire (figure D).

4. Snip off any excess wire and glue the bow to the guest book, or leave a little extra wire on the bow and wrap it around the cake knife handle or the champagne glass stem. Leave tendrils of ribbon as long or as short as you like.

5. Next, remove the flowers and leaves from a silk flower or a dried one. Glue the flower(s) and leaves to the guest book, knife handle and/or champagne flute, as desired (figure E).
