Materials:

black paper
removable tape
pencil
scissors
transfer paper
photo of person

Steps:

Method one

1. Place the photo on a copier and make a copy, enlarging or reducing it to the size silhouette you desire.

2. Using removable tape, adhere the photocopy to the black paper.

3. Cut around the image in the photo to create the silhouette (figures A and B).

4. Embellish the black silhouette with details such as clothing, face details, etc.

Method two

Steps:

1. Photocopy the picture you wish to use.

2. Cut the photo copy out first and create a template. You can then reuse the template again.

3. Using this template, trace the silhouette onto black paper.

4. Cut out the silhouette and embellish with details such as clothing, facial details, etc.

Method three

1. Make a photocopy of the picture you wish to use.

2. Sandwich transfer paper between the photocopy of the image and the black paper.

4. Trace the outline of the image onto the black paper.

5. Cut around the image to create the silhouette and embellish with details such as clothing and facial details.
