Just because you are a grownup, it doesn't mean that you can't enjoy an Easter basket.

Instead of toys, creativity expert Karen Hartman says to decorate an Easter basket with woven ribbons and frothy tulle, then fill it with wonderful homemade desserts (figure A).

Jelly Bean Brownies

Gently press together a round cookie cutter until it is oval in shape, like an egg. Prepare brownies, then cut into ovals. Add food coloring to match the various jelly bean colors to vanilla icing, then spread it on. Press jelly beans into the icing as a final touch (figure B) if you prefer.

Surround a straw hat with decorated sugar cookies and candy trim for a delightful centerpiece (figure C). Ice the cookies with vanilla frosting that you have tinted with powdered drink mix. Cut pastel candy wafers in half and place around the edge of the cookie (figure D).

Cover a hat box with lace and surround with tulle (figure E). Display cupcakes on top and fill the inside with more cupcakes. For icing, melt white-chocolate chips in the microwave. Add food coloring of choice, then ice the cupcakes. Roll pastel-colored taffy between hands to flatten it, then place in the center of a cupcake that is iced with a contrasting color (figure F).
