Garlands are a lovely way to bring greenery into our homes at the holidays. Here are a few unusual twists on a traditional idea:

Cow bells inspired this rich fireplace garland. A 30-foot grapevine was opened and wired into place and covered with greenery including fresh and silk lilies, large ornaments and berries.

This staircase garland has a tropical edge to it with white hydrangeas, lilies, oranges, green apples and palm fronds.

Australian zebra pheasant feathers accent a lovely window garland covered in gold ribbon and ornaments, including a rotating chandelier and two bulbs that move up and down.

A motorcycle enthusiast would enjoy this garland made from a chain that's augmented with actual toy motorcycles, strips of leather and silver ornaments.

Crafters and sewers can use brown twine as a base for miniature clothespins to hold homespun wool flannel or felt mittens and strips of striped and plaid cotton.
