Steps:

1. Carefully remove the handles (figure A) and embellish a plain gift bag as desired. We glued on a paper doily and topped it with two square layers of stamped paper (figure B). Then we added an angel that was stamped on paper, cut out and colored with markers (figure C). You could use ornaments, paper cutouts, fabric dolls, etc., and just attach them with glue. Cut craft or scrapbook paper with fancy scissors to create decorative edges.

2. Place your gift in the bag and fold over the top about 2 inches.

3. Measure the width of your bag. The header card needs to be slightly wider than the bag. Cut your card stock to the proper width and about 4-1/2 inches long (longer if you choose).

4. Find the center of the card lengthwise and slightly mark a halfway line.

5. Stamp onto the front of the card, being certain to stamp your largest design so that it crosses that halfway line at least once or twice, as desired.

6. Score across the halfway line, skipping places where your stamped designs cross it (figure D).

7. Using a craft knife, cut around the parts of the stamped designs that are ABOVE the halfway line (figure E). Do not cut through or below where the halfway line crosses the designs.

8. Fold along the score line (figure F), and the cut images will pop up above the top of the card (figure G).

9. Add double-sided tape to the inside of the card and attach it to the folded top of the gift bag.

10. Punch two holes through the header and bag, feed each end of ribbon through a hole from the back, and tie a bow on the front (figure H).
