Carol Duvall visited with Debra Shimer of Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Mich., to garner some interesting Christmas tree decorating secrets.
Shimer says that the first rule of thumb is to drape the lights and then carefully place the garland or ribbon (or whatever you choose). Next are the "units," which Shimer says may be bunches of flowers or fruit or other items that will complement the theme of the tree. In this case, Shimer and Duvall decided upon a fruit and vegetable tree, so Shimer selected several sunflowers and berries and grouped them together to form units.
After placing the units, in strategic spots for the most aesthetic appeal, hang the ornaments and top the tree with a star or bow. Follow these simple steps, and you'll get a great-looking tree in the most efficient amount of time.
