Magnetic Ornament

Crafter Renee Sparks shows how to add a unique touch to a metal Christmas ornament (see photo at right).

Materials:

color photographs or holiday greeting cards
white glue
wrapping paper
magnetic sheets
decorative scissors
rusted metal cones
ribbon
peppermints

Steps:

  1. Choose a photo or holiday image. Make a color copy (figure A) or use the original.

  2. Cover the back of the image with glue, then place onto wrapping paper.

  3. Place the image and wrapping paper on the sticky side of a magnetic sheet.

  4. Use decorative scissors to cut around the image (figure B). Leave a border of wrapping paper sticking out from around the photo

  5. Place the magnetic image on the front of a metal cone (figure C).

  6. Add ribbon, fill with peppermints and hang on the tree.

* Note: Use tissue as filler in the cone if you don't want the ornament to be too heavy.
