Materials:

pine or poplar boards (1" x 10" x 14")
two 3/8" pipe nipples (1-1/2" long)
3/8" pipe elbow
1" to 3/8" threaded adapter
3/8" to 1" coupling
6" square mirror
mirror mastic
two 6" lengths of screen door molding
1" drill bit
wooden buttons
paint or stain
hyde glue
silver pen

Steps:

  1. Measure one inch from bottom edge of board and drill a one-inch hole, centering from side to side.
  2. Paint or stain board and screen door molding to taste. Allow to dry.
  3. Use mirror mastic to adhere the mirror to board. Position in desired location. The one featured is centered on the diagonal two inches from the top.
  4. Attach screen door molding using glue.
  5. Paint wooden buttons with silver pen and attach to board with glue.
  6. Screw threaded adapter into one-inch hole on board. Screw 1-1/2-inch pipe nipple into adapter, followed by the elbow, second pipe nipple and coupling. This forms the candlestick holder. Make sure all parts are secure.
  7. Hang sconce on wall using suitable picture hanger or wire.
