Figure B
Host Renai Ellison demonstrates how to incorporate holiday angels into home decor via lampshades.

Materials:

paper angels from books, magazines, clip-art books, etc.
scissors
tea bag
spray adhesive
lampshade (white or off-white)
parchment paper or vellum
hot glue
hot-glue gun
clothespin
velvet ribbon trim (or another of your favorite fabrics)

Steps:

  1. Find angels in books or magazines and cut them out.

  2. Age the pictures by rubbing them twice with a wet tea bag on them. Allow the pictures to completely dry.

  3. Cut out the angels, being careful to get all of the detail.

  4. Spray adhesive on the front of the angel (figure A).

  5. Put the seam of the shade to the rear, then affix the angel or angels to the inside front and sides of the shade (figure B).

  6. To soften the image, cut out a piece of parchment or vellum paper to the size of the shade in a U shape.

  7. Cut out the paper and wrap it around the outside of the shade, aligning the paper seam with the shade seam. Hot glue the paper on.

  8. Trim the top and bottom of the shade with strips of velvet or other trim material. Hot glue the trim on, being sure to keep the seam to the back, with the shade seam.
