Materials:

lampshade
grass cloth wallpaper
paper
animal stamps
stamping paints
craft knife
scissors
decoupage glue

Steps:

  1. Choose a lampshade that is the same size at the top and bottom--oval, square or cylindrical shapes work well.
  2. Cut out a piece of the grass cloth wallpaper to fit around the shade and glue it in place (figure A). Trim any uneven edges with a craft knife.
  3. Stamp patterns onto paper. The example featured silver elephants on black paper, gold giraffes on brown, and black zebras on gray paper. Cut the images out, leaving a small border around them (figure B).
  4. Glue the shapes to the shade as desired.
  5. Trim the shade with ribbon.
