Lighting Options

Room by Room : Episode RXR-1303 -- More Projects »
Center ceiling fixtures can be somewhat ineffective--especially in a large room. Matt Fox offers these options when the electricity is already installed:
  • A track lighting system in an "h" design spreads light around the room. A halogen fixture can be used for general lighting but they also function as accent lighting to highlight walls and the artwork, making for a beautiful surrounding.
  • Another option is a ceiling fan with a light kit attached to it (usually three or four separate lights). To make it even more useable, lower the height of the fan with an extension bar.
  • Try adding a chandelier appropriate to the style of the room and remember to always turn off the main power source when working with electricity.
