Turn a tossed-out chandelier into a fixture brimming with colorful flowers.
Guest Shelley Kincaid shares how to turn a thrift-store chandelier into a fun flowerpot fixture.

Steps:

  1. Remove the electrical components by snipping all the wires that run through the base and through each of the arms. Also, remove the socket holder on each arm.
  2. Spray-paint the chandelier, if necessary.
  3. Paint the terra-cotta pots, as desired.
  4. If the fixture did not already have the concave plates beneath each light, use large, flat washers instead. These will provide the base for the terra-cotta pots .
  5. Place a washer (or, if using the plate, place the concave-side down) on each arm.
  6. Set the terra-cotta pot on the washer/plate. Secure inside the pot with a hex nut.
  7. Fill pots with silk flowers and greenery or place a live plant in the pot (leave it in the plastic container).
