Materials:

wooden storage crate, sturdy wooden packing crates, or antique shipping crates
4 rolling casters with hardware
heavy, beveled, coffee-table type glass to fit over open top of crate
rubber, adhesive-backed pads for corners of top of crate (upon which glass will rest)
fabric-covered foam core (optional)

Steps:

  1. If using an old crate, clean it and apply a clear finish, if desired. If using a new crate, leave the raw wood as is or stain/paint as desired.
  2. Attach casters to each corner of the bottom of crate, according to package directions.
  3. If desired, cut a piece of foam core to fit into the bottom of the crate and cover it with a complementary fabric such as burlap or velvet, then place the foam core in the bottom of crate.
  4. Arrange collectibles inside the crate.
  5. Attach a rubber pad on the top corners of the crate and center the beveled glass on the pads.
