Materials:
wrought-iron three panel screen frame (purchased)
wrought-iron curtain rod with decorative finials
4 yards tapestry-weight fabric
matching threads
30 coordinating buttons
sewing machine
Steps:
- Measure screen panels and cut two lengths for each slightly shorter than panel dimensions.
- Make six pockets approximately 12 inches deep by width of panels plus one inch. Hem top and bottom of each pocket.
- Sew 30 strips approximately 10 inches long by two inches wide with one clean finished end and a buttonhole near those ends.
- Attach five strips to each end of three screen panels.
- Arrange pockets on screen panels as desired. Attach by sewing at sides and bottom.
- Pin backs of panels over fronts with all straps pinned inside to avoid catching in seams.
- Sew around outside leaving approximately 10 inches open to turn.
- Turn out and pin in place on screen frames. Mark buttonholes and sew on buttons.
- Arrange three-paneled screen so it folds outward. Insert curtain rod across top of screen frame to hang rod.
