Update a piece of furniture by adding a simple painting technique.
Materials:

220-grit sandpaper
tack cloth
rags
latex primer
paintbrushes
paint (*we regret that specifics are not available)
glaze (cream and gold)

Steps:

1. Wipe the piece clean with a damp rag and warm water. Let dry. Sand the entire piece and remove the dust with a damp rag or tack cloth.
2. Prime the piece and let dry thoroughly.
3. Paint the piece in the desired base coat. Let dry and repeat if necessary.
4. Highlight portions of the piece using a rag with a bit of cream-colored glaze on it. Wipe very lightly, trying not to build up the paint but just leaving a wisp of color.
5. Repeat the same process with gold-colored glaze. Let dry.
6. Add a detailed design using craft paint (draw the design freehand or use a stencil).
