Materials:
unfinished piano stool or small inexpensive table
acrylic paint in dark green, light green, and pale gray-green
natural sea sponge
sponge brush
thin wood pieces
wood glue
cotton swab
Steps:
- Remove the piano stool or table legs and paint all pieces dark green.
- To create a granite look, dab a natural sea sponge into a light green acrylic paint. Pat off any excess paint and pounce the sponge on the top and sides of tabletop. Let the paint dry. Repeat with pale gray-green acrylic paint to complete the granite look.
- Choose a color scheme, and create a pattern with pre-cut thin wood pieces.
- Paint one side of wood pieces with acrylic paint and a sponge brush. Let the paint dry.
- Lay out the pattern on the tabletop, and add wood glue to unpainted side of the wood pieces. Press the pieces onto surface. If the glue oozes out, wipe it off with a cotton swab.
