Video: Keep files, blankets or off-season shoes/clothing inside a storage ottoman that can also be used as a seat.
Materials:

brass piano hinge
fabric
drill
4 rolling casters
2 handles
staple gun
4 brass corner protectors
36"-wide pine panels
screws
drill
bits (regular and counter bore bit)
glue
4" foam
friction lid support

Steps :

1. Cut the plywood to create a 20" x 20" lidless box. Drill pilot holes and use a counter bore drill over each hole (this allows you to drive the screw below the face of the board, which will protect the fabric). Screw the pieces together.

2. Cut a piece of pine to 20" x 20" for the lid (figure A). Place a piece of foam cut to the same size on top after generously putting glue to the top of the board. Note: An old electric knife cuts foam easily.

3. Staple the fabric around both pieces separately. After drilling pilot holes, install the piano hinge and friction lid support to hold the top and bottom together (figure B).

4. Attach brass protectors to the bottom corners of the top piece for a useful accent and fill with files or other storage items (figure C).

5. Attach the handles to opposite sides (drill pilot holes first) and casters to the base for portability.
