plywood (15 x 20" x 3/4")
wood legs and fittings
2 yards decorative trim
hot glue gun
heavy-duty stapler
scissors
plastic plate
screwdriver
paper towels
iron
sandpaper
Steps:
- Lay ironed fabric on a flat protected surface. Pour fabric paints onto separate plastic plates.
- Assemble stamp following packaging instructions. Use separate sponges to apply red paint to the flower head and green to the stem portion.
- Stamp image onto fabric by rolling it on in one continuous motion. Reapply paint and continue until fabric is covered with a random pattern.Clean stamp. Let fabric dry and heat-set on back with iron according to paint directions.
- Use hot glue to secure the foam to the plywood.
- Lay fabric wrong side up and center foam/plywood on top. Pull fabric up on one long side and staple in the center. Repeat on the opposite side, pulling fabric taut .
- Repeat on the two remaining sides. Neatly tuck in the corners and staple. Trim excess fabric if necessary.
- Screw fittings onto plywood in all four corners.
- Paint legs as desired and let dry. Sand for a distressed look and apply varnish . Let dry and screw into fittings.
- Stand stool upright and glue trim to edge.
