Materials:

1/4" plywood, enough to cover the front of refrigerator
quarter-round wood trim
glue
strip magnets
paint
paintbrushes
polyurethane
screwdriver or drill

Steps:
  1. Remove the handles from the refrigerator and freezer. Set aside and save all screws.
  2. Measure refrigerator and freezer doors separately. Cut two pieces of plywood, one to fit each.
  3. Cut wood trim to fit perimeter of plywood panels. Secure with glue and hold in place until dry with small clamps.
  4. Prime panels and allow to dry completely.
  5. Apply the Caribbean-color paints as desired. Allow to dry.
  6. Coat with polyurethane and attach strip magnets to edges on back of the panels. Position on freezer and fridge doors.
  7. Reattach handles to doors and tighten.

Tips:
  • Experiment with color schemes, the area can always be repainted.
  • Try blending two colors of paint together to get a rich, mottled effect.
  • Use a black marker to outline a scene and let a bit of the line show through.
