Using a technique she calls "spontaneous engineering," Kimberly Sotelo creates sculptural yet functional furniture out of frail willow branches. She hikes to a nearby willow grove from her studio to collect the raw materials for her furniture. It takes nearly 300 thin, flexible willow branches to make a chair.
