Hitchcock chairs are typically black with gold accents.
Materials:

chair
black paint
gold paint pens
floral stencil
painter's tape
stencil brush
acrylic paint (gold and green)
thin artist's brush
gloss varnish
natural woven wallpaper
scissors
decoupage glue
sponge brush

Steps:

  1. Prime and paint chair black. Add gold details to narrowest part of turned wood pieces on chair using gold paint pen.
  2. Tape stencil to wide cross rail on back of chair. Load stencil brush with gold paint and remove excess by pouncing brush repeatedly on a paper towel. Quickly pounce brush up and down over open stencil until desired area is covered. Remove stencil and let dry. Do this to each cross rail.
  3. Dip artist's brush in green paint (diluted with water) and lightly paint bottom portion of each leaf.
  4. Cut a piece of the wallpaper to fit the seat. Secure in place with glue.
  5. Add two to three coats of varnish to seal.
