Steps:
1. Back chosen photo or announcement with adhesive and trim to desired size. Remove backing and carefully place on candle.
2. Melt wax according to directions inside a tall container. Hold the wick with pliers and dip the entire candle in hot wax twice.
Note: These candles cannot be burned since the invitation or photo used is flammable.
Photo and Document Decal Candles
Materials:
photos, invitation, announcement, etc.
Lasting Images water decal paper
glass dish
pillar candle
inexpensive picture frames
metallic spray paint
craft glue
Finishing Touch decorative wax trim
Steps:
1. Have invitation/photo laser copied onto decal paper. Place in water for 30 seconds and rub candle with water while waiting.
2. Place decal paper in position on candle and carefully slide backing off.If it tears, slide the decal back in position (figure A).
3. Surround a photo with the front part of a small frame after molding it into the shape of the candle (allow glue to dry for 24 hours) (figure B) or use decorative wax strips as trim, which will melt with the heat of your hands.
Note: Plain wax trim can be coiled into spiral shapes and placed near the top of taper candles for a quick accent.
Glass Bead Spiral Tapers
Materials:
glass beads in four sizes
double-sided adhesive
scissors
taper candles
1. Cut adhesive into thin strips and apply in a spiral pattern around the taper.
2. Remove backing and sprinkle adhesive with glass beads until completely coated (figure C).
