Figure A--This unique frame was created with a technique called shadow boxing, and it's all the rage, as people begin to frame memories and not just photographs or prints. Memorabilia, items acquired from a trip, clothing and nearly anything else can be displayed to cherish not only the memory, but the tangible reminders of an event as well.

Figure B--Glass is a nonporous material that won't allow air circulation underneath it. Therefore, when framing fabric, always make sure there is a pocket of air so that the piece can breathe. If the glass isn't lifted, mold, mildew would eventually result, which would cause the piece to rot.

Figure C--When framing, remember that bigger is always better. This is the reason frames made from old architectural pieces have become so popular. They look especially good on mirrors. Two factors to always consider when framing are the preservation of the piece and the dimensions with which you want to work.
