Figure C
Interior designer Denise Simons demonstrates how to create a sophisticated tea tray with a picture frame (see photo at right).

Materials:

wooden frame
spray paint (Gold was used on the show.)
pressed, dried flowers and/or greenery (Pansies are good because they maintain their color well.)
craft glue
velvet mat board cut to fit frame
handles
screws

Steps:

  1. Remove the backing and the glass from the frame. Spray the wood with two to three coats of paint (figure A). Let dry.

  2. Glue flowers and/or greenery to the velvet mat board in the desired pattern (figure B). Let dry.

  3. Attach handles to the ends of the frame with screws (figure C).

  4. Place velvet board inside the frame behind the glass. Attach the backing to the frame.
