Project designed by Nathalie Metivier.
Materials:
Magenta stamps
- frame-in-a-frame (26-042-R and 26-016-R)
- flowers (14-360-N, 02-167-L, 14-271-J and 23-259-J)
- butterfly (03-104-J)
- corner (14-166-D)
- mini square: 14-081-B
several pieces of various colors of Magenta paper
embossing ink
gold embossing powder
heat gun
scissors
X-acto craft knife
cutting mat
ruler
gold pigment ink
gold metallic marker
double-sided tape or glue stick
card stock
Steps:
1. Emboss a frame-in-a-frame stamp (figure A) of choice in gold powder on different colors of paper. Using a cutter and a ruler, cut out each individual frame seperately.
2. Emboss and cut other designs such as flowers and butterflies (figure B).
3. On a square piece of card stock, arrange and glue the frame pieces. Before gluing, experiment with the placement of the frames, alternate the colors, and turn the square shapes to create diamond shapes (figure C).
4. Embellish with other images, flowers, etc., until satisfied with the look ( figure D).
5. Fill the triangular spaces created by diamond shapes with corner stamps stamped in gold pigment ink.
6. Outline the shapes with a metallic marker.
Tips:
- For some of the flower stamps, cut the center of the petal as well as the outside of the image and create a lace effect. Start removing the center with the cutter, and finish the outside with scissors.
- Try other colors of embossing powder.
- If possible, emboss a lot of frames in a row and as many images to cut out as desired. Keep these images in individual plastic bags or envelopes to have them ready to use when needed.
