Figure D
Craft expert Katheryn Bieber shows how to create customized jelly candles (figure A) that can be decorated with all sorts of personal embellishments--from candies to jewelry and small toys.

Materials:

Gelly Goo
medium-size saucepan
candle wicks
pencil
variety of glass containers
coffee beans, brown beans, and similar filler items
metal ladle

Steps:

  1. Melt Gelly Goo in a saucepan on low heat.

  2. Hang a wick over an anchor (such as a pencil) down into a large container (figure B).

  3. Add a variety of filler items such as coffee beans, brown beans, etc (figure C).

  4. Dip out the goo and pour it in the jar with a metal ladle (figure D).

Other Ideas

  • Fill a champagne-type glass with Gelly Goo. Add a drop or two of food coloring, then suspend the wick from a pencil that is resting on top of the glass.

  • For a "martini" candle, put olives in a martini glass and fill with the jelly. Again, suspend the wick.
