Candlescape Tips:
  • Place candles at least one inch apart to prevent sidewall burn out--when the flame of a small candle melts the wall of a taller one).
  • Trim wicks to 1/4" before burning.
  • Include gourds in fall or decorative ornaments during the holidays.
  • Rub fingerprints off candle sides with an old nylon stocking.
  • Place a partially melted votive in the freezer for an hour, and then pop the whole thing out for a clean holder.

These candles were all transformed with inexpensive embellishments for a designer look.
  • Create a striped pillar: Tape-off a design, apply spray paint in desired color and push studs into the sides.
  • Decoupage little bits of paper, magazines and newspaper in random designs for a custom look.
  • Attach pieces of ribbons between studs.
  • Wrap paper and string around the center of a pillar.
  • Tie cinnamon sticks around a pillar and secure with pieces of rawhide.
