exterior architectural urethane finials
base coat lavender acrylic craft paint
1" paintbrushes
Plaid crackle medium
light blue acrylic craft paint
paste wax
red paint tint
Zar moorish teak oil-based wood stain
raw umber aging oil paint
rags
Steps:
- Apply two coats of lavender acrylic paint, allowing one hour of drying time between each. After final coat, allow to dry several hours.
- Apply two coats crackle finish following manufacturer's instructions.
- Apply one topcoat of light blue acrylic paint according to crackle medium manufacturer's instructions and let dry.
- Mix paint tint with paste wax until all one color.
- Rub on tinted paste wax with a soft cloth, letting the wax fill the cracks. Wait a few minutes, and buff to a low sheen.
- Rub on wood stain and wipe off excess. Allow to dry for a couple of days.
- Age the entire piece by rubbing on raw umber oil paint. This will also take a few days to dry.
