Experiment with different types of finishes to get the look you want. Shown here are a whitewash, metallic and copper patina finish.
Vivian Peritts from Deco Art turns plain plaster into art with paint washes.

Materials:

plaster wall bracket or corbel
Deco Art Heavenly Hues paint
Deco Art Americana paint
Deco Art Dazzling Metallics
paintbrushes
natural sponges
Deco Art Americana spray sealer / finisher

Bracket #1:
  1. Paint base coat with Deco Art Dazzling Metallics and allow to dry.
  2. Brush on a Heavenly Hues shade then wipe it off with a damp sponge (Vivian chose Earth Brown #DHH 6).
  3. When the bracket has dried, apply the sealer / finisher.

Bracket #2:

  1. Base coat with a shade of Americana and let dry (Peritts chose Sand #DA 4).
  2. Brush on a Heavenly Hues shade and wipe off with a damp sponge.
  3. When the bracket has dried, apply the sealer / finisher.

Bracket #3:

  1. Base coat with a Heavenly Hues shade (Peritts chose Blissful Beige #DHH 4).
  2. Apply a sealer / finisher and let dry for at least 12 hours.
  3. Apply Heavenly Hues White Cloud shade #DHH1. Wipe off with a damp sponge.
  4. When the bracket has dried, apply the sealer / finisher.
