Important tips for preventing damage to your floors, walls and furniture:
- Use plastic floor and carpet protectors to prevent furniture from scratching floors or denting carpet. Some of these protectors make furniture easier to move. Available in a range of styles, some have blunt plastic teeth on the bottom, while others have carpet backing.
- Place rubber caps on the bottoms of chair legs to protect wood floors. Some styles screw into the bottom of the legs, while swiveling caps make moving furniture a breeze.
- Stick plastic pieces around the bottom and/or back of a picture frame to keep it from scratching the wall.
- Stick felt dots on the bottom of boxes and other objects with flat bottoms. Adhesive-backed felt is sold in large pieces and can be cut to fit any object.
